Garry Leach - V for Vendetta Tome 3 Cover - Zenda Editions published 1989

Garry met the Publishers in Angouleme and was asked to paint 2 covers, but he only did the one.

 

47 x 51 cm fully painted on artboard. The top left corner was peeled back, but luckily they stopped when they realised the artwork wasn't strippable ( as the publishers wanted to scan it on the at the time new barrel scanners. In the end they photohraphed it )

So slight creases and a scratch, but not in art area.

 

It was a hard piece to scan as the Art surface is slightly reflective.

 

The Published Cover artwork was desaturated by the Publishers ( without consulting Garry ) so the blue BG appears Grey in print. Hence Garry only did one cover, as he was annoyed they had altered his work!
