TANK GIRL Pin up / Unused cover - A1 Atomeka issue 5 - JAMIE HEWLETT art - GORILLAZ

Originally printed Jan. 1991 in Atomeka's A1 Book #5, as an advertisement for the special TANK GIRL - She's fucking great! story that appeared in the following issue.

This was due to be the cover (and printed in colour), but A1 art director Garry Leach asked Jamie Hewlett to fully paint a new cover to capitalise on Tank Girl's huge popularity instead.

This image was Jamie's original cover design, and it was then used as a black and white advert in BOOK#5 ( with Garry's added a black BG, as this art was designed to be coloured originally).

Stupendously rare opportunity to get an original cover design from the first series. Copy of the original A1 BOOK 5 comic  available with the original art. The original lettering for the Advert is included as a seperate piece too!

The image has since been used as a cover for another Tank Girl poster comic put out by writer Alan Martin.
